Function: Emulsifier
CAS #: 31566-31-1
EC #: 250-705-4/286-490-9
Description:

Glyceryl Stearate is made when a Glycerin molecule attaches to stearic acid. It is produced from most vegetable oils by a simple “Green” process similar to soap making.

It is used as a surfactant and emulsifying agent. It helps emulsion by reducing the surface tension of the substance to be emulsified. It is a lubricant and gives the skin a soft smooth appearance. Water loss from the skin is slowed down by Glyceryl Stearate because it forms a barrier on the skin’s surface.
